Below is a mortgage document checklist to ensure you have all required documents when buying a home. This list is neither exhaustive nor inclusive and serves as guideline purposes only.
- Letter of employment including the date you were hired, your position and your gross income
- Employment contract, if necessary
- Copy of latest pay stubs showing year-to-date income
- Most recent RRSP and investment statements
- 90 day history of the account or accounts in which your down payment currently is
*The 2 most recent notices of assessments may be required
- MLS listing with Photo
- Purchase and sale agreement
- Contact details of the notary
- Most recent property tax statement
- The property’s estimated electricity costs
- The well water test results, if necessary
- The certificate of location
- Current homeowner insurance policy
